Responsible Travel

Frozen Himalayas have always believed that if you do something and there is no benefit to the community then there is no beauty in that work. Therefore we have been constantly teaming with people and using their knowledge and expertise to shape the future of Ladakh.

We have been creating responsible tourism itineraries for people who want to travel and make a difference. Currently our friends and clients are sponsoring under privileged kids to go to school, building houses for the poor, helping struggling people financially - giving them dignity in their day to day existence, teaching skills to children which they will never learn in govt schools and aiding in the distribution of medicines and medical equipment to the remote places and hospitals. Overview

This trek leads you from Suru valley of Ladakh into lush green fertile medows of Wadvan valley  of Kashmir.
The single most beautiful and breath taking part of the Kargil district is by far and away the Suru Valley. Those who are travelling from Kargil town to Zanskar will do so through this route. The Suru Valley has it all, fertile soil, rushing rivers, majestic peaks, picturesque villages, ancient Buddhist carvings, local mosques, medieval shrines, mud brick houses, strong healthy trees, flowers, valleys and silence.

Wadvan valley is the most beautiful valley which is located between the Pir Panjal range and the main Himalayan range. The lush green meadows of Warvan stretch along either side of the river Marva, ebbing and flowing through gorgeous landscapes, the waters loaded with trout. Once you enter the village of Nowpachi the road leads through thick forests and green pastures and after travelling for around 21kms you reach a small village which is mainly inhabited by Shiite Muslims, who have migrated many generations ago from the Kargil and Zanskar areas of Ladakh and still follow the customs that their ancestors brought with them.
Inshan is the next big village, which is also the main village of the Warvan block and is now connected through a road. The dainty wooden roofs of the houses reminds you of times past, wood the primary building material before being replaced by tin sheets. Due to its green pastures many Bakkarwal families (nomadic herders) use these high pastures as their grazing ground in summer. Warvan valley was very famous among Europeans because of the natural beauty and its location as it links the hiking trails which start from the green alpine mountains of Kashmir and into the vast, barren and majestic landscapes of Ladakh. The trail goes through the Sukhani village which ultimately leads to Humpet and the Bhoktol pass over into Panikhar (Suru valley) of Ladakh. Two major peaks of Jammu and Kashmir Nun and Kun both can be also approached from Lanwi-La of the Warvan valley. Another beauty of the Warvan valley not to be missed are the high altitude lakes one after the other small but beautiful, crystal clear and deliciously refreshing, they offer a superb place to pitch a tent and kick back with the nature.
